The monthly challenges continue - next month hosted by [livejournal.com profile] copyrightpidalo. Go have a look at Make September Happy and claim your day. This month, we're suggesting that people take on [livejournal.com profile] fic_requests prompts, so if you want to claim a specific prompt along with your day, you can!

Also, JuC Swap has gone live! I had great fun taking part and wrote two stories - my "real" story, Flaming Ninja Waffles, and my pinch hit is (I'm Not) Home For Christmas. I'll probably repost them both on my fic journal over the next few days.

I also can't recommend the story that was written for me highly enough - everyone should read BookPeople by [livejournal.com profile] phaballa. It's an AU: Justin works in a bookstore and is romantic and geeky and just a bit broken. There is bitchy Lance, JC is beautiful and amazing and wearing pink and glitter, Chris is (duh) awesome, and Joey is a really good friend and not such a great roommate. It's awesome.

The only other one I've managed to read so far was the brilliant Hi De Woe by [livejournal.com profile] turps33. Terri is brilliant as always and this story is sweet and funny and adorable and, oh, just go read it.

Honourable mention goes to the three stories I beta'd for but haven't re-read yet. I'm totally reccing them all anyway. There's Bon-Bon Fire Of The Vanities (awesome Gossip Girl AU by [livejournal.com profile] phaballa). And from the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] llamabitchyo there's Do Not Arouse Or Awaken Love (Until It So Desires), which is about Justin and Britney and the Bible and Chris and how desirable JC is; and Rabbits' Feet, Kisses And Invisible Gay Necklaces which is about luck and love and growing up.

You should totally read all these stories, for they are awesome.

And I'm done pimping!

I still have June Bug pimps and master list updates to do. Will get to that tonight.

The very lovely [livejournal.com profile] fan_elune has written me the most lovely Lucifer Box ficlet. She should be encouraged, so go read and comment!

And now for a meme )

That's all!

So. Way back in November, before submissions for Make The Yuletide Gay went live, [livejournal.com profile] nopseud, [livejournal.com profile] pensnest, [livejournal.com profile] turps33, [livejournal.com profile] ephemera, [livejournal.com profile] phaballa and myself did some rapid-fire testing of the system. And of course we wrote actual stories for one another, because... Well, because we did!

Thanks to random conversation with [livejournal.com profile] adelate, I've just been reminded how truly awesome all those stories are. So here are some recs:

So, from the first MtYG test:

An Amphibian Fairy Tale by [livejournal.com profile] pensnest.

Illumination by [livejournal.com profile] pensnest

A Fishy Tale by [livejournal.com profile] turps33

This Is Your Life by [livejournal.com profile] nopseud

Five Part Harmony by [livejournal.com profile] ephemera_pop

And from the second MtYG test:

Unnatural by [livejournal.com profile] pensnest

Wrecked (Extracts From A Dairy) by [livejournal.com profile] nopseud

The Young Lesbians League Of American And Other Tales From Chris's Basement by [livejournal.com profile] phaballa

Throwing Horns by [livejournal.com profile] ephemera_pop

Caught Between by [livejournal.com profile] turps33

Really, people, these stories are all totally fab and if you haven't already - go read, feed, and share the love!
