I have decided that I am going to do this challenge.

I'm a beginner programmer, and I'm ridiculously full of ideas, so I figured that I would use my current passion as a blogging topic, so this is my topic.

100 Programming Projects

I am almost certainly not going to complete all of these projects. I certainly may finish more than I start. But the point, for now, is to blog about them.

This post will become the master post, and I will list all of the upcoming blog posts here.

Ohwow, I'm way interested in programming after some IT classes in high school/college so this is definitely Of Interest.
What languages do you use?

Cool - I hope you like the series!

I'm a DW development volunteer so I program in Perl. I've also been studying Python and Javascript, and I know a certain amount of HTML and CSS, with a bit of SQL on the side.

These projects will probably be in a mixture of Perl and Python with some frontend stuff to make it look pretty!

I don't know any Python or Perl (though I've been told Python is very easy to learn once you get the hang of object oriented stuff? I might be misremembering). But I know the html/css/some sql so it should definitely be interesting.

Interestingly, I've done some OO stuff in Perl and JS, but nothing in Python just yet. So anything that requires OO is in Perl for now. I'm curious to learn Python OO though...

God, you'll make me start looking at tutorials next. All I know is visual basic and, ridiculously, Turbo Pascal (oh high school).

[giggles] Hey, that's two languages I know NOTHING of! (I know how to write some reasonably complicated formulas in Excel, but that's mostly courtesy of "you MUST be able to do that.... dear internet, please explain").

Speaking of tutorials, I'm avoiding my CS homework by doing Codecademy stuff instead. Think I might be addicted?

Turbo Pascal is just... it was outdated when they taught us it twelve years ago, but I suppose it's simple enough that it can be taught to a bunch of mostly disinterested 10th graders.
I think "internet, please explain" got me through my SQL exam.

It's not a bad thing to be addicted to!

The internet is VERY USEFUL like that.

And no, it's not! Programming appears to be one of the few things that can make go SQUEEEEEEE! even when I'm really depressed, so. I call this a bonus.

Oh that's a massive bonus. Always useful to know what gets you out of it, even if only for an hour.

Excellent. I'm thinking of doing Amateur Theatre as my 100 Challenge, but it's going to be fascinating seeing what the various people on my reading list are writing about. :-)

Ooh, I'l definitely be keeping an eye out for that one, too!
