The pop universe.

People, I'm writing a novel, which requires supporting characters.

I've already placed the members of N'Sync and BSB in my universe, plus Britney, Pink and Christina, and one member of O Town (plus 50 Cent). I've got all my major, "speaking role" characters now, I think; what I'm looking for, instead of creating original characters, is pop names to drop, to help populate the universe.

And of course, outside of the ten boys and the three girls I mentioned, I'm not very well-versed in the pop universe. So you would help me enormously if you could list as many pop people as you can think of, preferably roughly contemporary to our boys in terms of popularity.

Or at least: Justin's 23, going on 24 right now, so no one that would have been 15 at the start of 2005. Or 12, as some of these are going to be workplace people.

Extra points if it would give you squee to see their name dropped in a story. (I'm not promising anything more than a name-drop, though.)

Really extra points if you can provide me with a picture or a bio or some information about this person.

yes. Nick and Drew, plus Jeff Timmons (who did Manband with Chris) and Justin....I can't remember his last name.

Justin Jeffre, born 1973. Jeff and Nick L was also born in 1973 and Drew L was born in 1976. (No, I've never been into them, I just collect facts :-)

Thank you! I now have a list of bookmarked Wiki pages that will totally help me to use these guys as minor characters. I wonder what I shall do with them?

(It's interesting that, due to including BSB, I already have a Nick... and my sister wanted me to include NKOTB, which would mean duplicating a Joey...)

Eminem of course!! No popslash universe is complete without mentions of Mr Marshall Mathers :-) And he's only one year youngerthan Chris (to the day! they've got the same birthday) so he's definitely not too young.

Wade Robinson? He's 18 months younger than Justin.

Aaron Carter was born in December 1987 so he would've just turned 17 at the start of 2005.

Oooh, that's interesting. I didn't know he had the same birthday as Chris! Maybe he can be an Orlando person or something. It'd be fun if he could come and stir up some kind of trouble.

Aaron might be Nick's younger brother (Nick is a secondary character with a "speaking part") but I've no idea if I can fit him in....

*rubs hands together* Eminem shows up a lot in popslash for some reason or another, as does Nelly. Drop Carson Daly in, that would be cool! lol. The members of 98 Degrees are around that age so they work well. You could look at some of the guys real life friends- people like Alfonso Ribero, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Emmanuele Chirqui, Trace, Tony Lucca.
Some more girls- Alicia Keys, Eve, members of Destiny's Child, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore.

These people are all pretty easily googled. You need any more, hit me up.

There's the guys in OTown, which yeah I can't remember most of their names - Dan (something), Jacob (something), Ashley Parker Angel and the two other dudes. ;) If you use Jessica Simpson, there's also her younger sister Ashlee. I think (not real sure) that Hilary Duff is Aaron's age. Zac Efron and Jesse McCartney are Aaron's age. Ricky Martin was born in 1971. Ike Hanson of Hanson was born the same year as Nick Carter and his brother Taylor is a year or two younger than Ike, no clue on the youngest ones age - I didn't ever look him up. Vanessa Carlton, Michelle Branch, Res and Ashanti are other girls I thought of. The guys in Good Charlotte; Benji & Joel Madden, Billy Martin and the ones I don't know the names of offhand.

(I've had to look up "bit role" people for 2 stories now and these are names I remember using (of ones I don't see that others have told you), but wow with the lack of memory for exact ages/birth years now)
