How about going with "red" or a variation thereof instead of outright blood? like, um, 'taste of crimson' or 'thin red line' or 'blood on his teeth' or 'red hot salt' something less lame than that? Dude, 'taste blud' is starting to look pretty good right about now, innit? AHAHHA
