It just occurred to me that there might be some songs on Schizophrenic* that might fit my novel characters. This seemed like a good excuse to listen to it for the first time in ages, so here I am listening to it.

And I'm listening to Some Girls, which is just... there is a lot wrong with this song. Not least the central conceit about women dancing with other women to get male attention. And I'm remembering that one live performance in which he was all like, "uh, so, like, I'm aware that there are also women who dance with women 'cause they, y'know, like women", and thinking oh, JC.

This has been your random popslash for... well, actually the year so far. I guess I don't think about popslash that much any more.

*Yes, the album title is also hugely problematic and kind of ableist. And I like the album anyway. Apart from Some Girls, which is somewhat gross.

Some Girls has *so* *many* *problems*. And yet I know all the words. /o\

In re other Schizophrenic*, I desperately want there to be a story where, in the midst of some Terribly Inappropriate Situation, someone snaps out, "JC! Control your thang!" (Eventually I may get to the point of writing this myself.)

(*Agreed, also v. problematic)
