randomlingThis came to me in the form of a TV script. I don't know how to write TV scripts and I don't actually care - I'm not planning to do anything with this. Just wanted to get it out of my head. It's junky and needs some work and I don't know if I've actually stolen it wholesale from a Sorkin show (it has that flavour) but it needed to be posted.
INT. A busy TV set.
SHERRI, a young woman of Indian descent, hovers on set as people work around her, cleverly but nervously dodging out of the way of everyone. ROB, a white man, appears with MARK, a Hispanic man, leading him confidently across the set.
SHERRI: Hey, you guys. (She is ignored.) Hey, you -
ROB, a white man, and MARK, a Hispanic man, enter the set. They walk confidently across, deep in conversation.
ROB: I don't think that's right. I mean, I could be wrong, but I don't think that's right. Amelia's just too -
MARK: (laughing) Yeah, man, I know what you're saying.
SHERRI: H-hey -
ROB: (turning) Hey, Sherri, I didn't see you there. Give us a minute, would you?
SHERRI: Sure.
She continues to hover.
ROB: I think we need to find another way around it. Let me show you back to the office, it's just through here...
ROB and MARK exit the set. AMBER LYNN, a white woman, buzzes on, busy as a bee.
SHERRI: Hey, Amber Lynn!
AMBER LYNN: Hey, sweetie, sorry back in a sec.
She grabs something and rushes off-set.
SHERRI (to herself): Yeah.
The activity begins to die down. SHERRI tries to to catch the attention of a passing stage hand.
SHERRI: Hey, Tom -
TOM: Not now, honey.
SHERRI sighs and, defeated, sits on a table. A few moments pass; the set clears; SHERRI is dejected. Suddenly AMBER LYNN reappears and is surprised to see SHERRI sitting there.
AMBER LYNN: You're still here?
SHERRI: Sure am.
AMBER LYNN: Did you need something?
SHERRI: I was trying to say "Hey, you guys".
AMBER LYNN: Oh! You totally forgot.
SHERRI smiles sadly.
