So. [livejournal.com profile] bittybang.

So. A few days back, I finally reached the end of the first part of The Plan. The first half is almost 70,000 words and I'm immensely proud of that achievement. I'm also planning to get on with writing the other half of the story quite soon. I have every intention of delivering this huge story to my (ahem) waiting fans. Or at least, the two people who want to read it when it's done.

It's not going to be for [livejournal.com profile] bittybang, though. Oddly, because although I'm confident that I could produce the necessary words by 31st October, the first draft turned out so different from what I intended to write that I'm much less confident of being able to get it into postable shape by November 23rd.

So I've done what every sane (?!) person would do and started on my third attempt at a [livejournal.com profile] bittybang story. (Sigh. This is getting frustrating. I've promised myself that if this doesn't turn out to work for the challenge either, I'm giving in - no point in subjecting myself to extra stress when I've got enough of that in my actual life.) I won't say much about it here, except that it's Lambs (the tinhat! It has returned!) and it has a working title of Park Guy.

As I'm away for the next week, I won't be making wordcount posts for this one. I'm pretty confident that I'm capable of writing the required number of words if I can only find enough plot, and I'm sure it's just spammy and boring for most of you guys.

For those of you awaiting The Plan - I've not given up on it and I don't intend to abandon it. The current plan is to dash off Park Guy and then resume writing The Plan as soon as possible. It'll probably be a long editing process, though, as it's the first thing of this length I've written and I'm not sure how to get from "where I am now" and "where I want to be". Expect me to be begging for betas and editorial help on it early next year, when I've finished the first draft, put it away for a while and got some perspective on it.

One of the advantages of having written 70,000 words in the space of a month is that my current atttitude is, "20k? Pah!" Now if I can only find enough plot to sustain Park Guy for long enough...

I totally am.

But not the really bad kind of crazy where I was going to try and get 140,000 words edited and polished by the end of November, at least? Park Guy is looking like 20-25k, which is so, so very doable.

And I just downloaded my draft and all my notes on The Plan to take on holiday. I wasn't going to do that! And then I thought, what the hell.

Thank you!

I has suspicions this was going to happen. Congrats on deciding to just throw caution and any semblance of sanity out the window and try something else! :shakes pom poms and drops pixie stix on you:

Thank you hon! ♥ It turned out pretty good - I have 20k of something that I really quite like, and a few ideas how I'm going to continue it.
