Okay, people. I have catching up to do. I need to update the June Bug masterlist and make a post giving the most recent posters their props. Sorry to have been behind!
I also still haven't managed to read, never mind FB, any of the D-Day stories, or reply to the FB I received. I will manage that. Sometime soon.
In other news: this week's Doctor Who rocked. I've been a fan of RTD's since way back when (I actually broke my toe running downstairs so as not to miss the start of a QAF episode) and think he's been a fabulous writer and producer of Who. I think it's fair to say that the first season was his best, but subsequent seasons haven't been bad - and while I know he hasn't been popular with all fans everywhere, I do think he's got it in him to be stunning. (No, not every ep he's written has been perfect, but hell, everyone has their off days.) He proved it last week with Midnight which really focussed on his talents: RTD does humanity, really, really well, he does character like no one else, and that episode was all about how people respond in a crisis and it was brilliant. And this week he did the other he does best: showing epic changes of history through character, through the ordinary people it affects and showing ordinary people swept up by events. He's done the ordinary-but-special characters before - not just Rose; Christopher Ecclestone's character in The Second Coming, and the Doctor himself, and even Stuart Jones to an extent - and he does it brilliantly. I'm so looking forward to the next few episodes.
That said, I'm not getting back into Who fandom. More crazy than I am prepared to deal with, for the most part. (Then again - how in the hell am I going to get readers for my Who fic when it's done? Oh, well, that'll have to be dealt with when it's actually finished.)
I think I am done rambling now?
