Two Timbertone Drabbles
May. 29th, 2008 01:54 amWritten for the It's Gonna Be May challenge and submitted to
fanfic100.
Summary: Justin doesn't like to lose.
Warnings: Boybands, RPF.
Also: Unbeta'd.
Consolation Prize
“Settle down, J,” Joey says. He settles himself on the couch, comfortably close to Justin, and Justin looks at him. “It's just a game.”
Chris and Lance are celebrating, loudly and obnoxiously, on the other side of Justin's pool room, shooting champagne and hollering. Justin knows it's just a game, but he's still pissed that he lost. That they lost.
He could blame Joey. But Justin took that last shot, and missed.
Joey slips an arm around Justin's shoulder. “Lance may have won the game,” he whispers, leaning in close. “But I bet Chris won't suck his dick tonight.”
Summary: Justin's just a kid, really.
Warnings: Boybands, RPF
Also: Unbeta'd.
Angel
It's moments like these that Joey remembers Justin's still a kid; the youngest, not even sixteen. It's January, though – almost Joey's birthday; almost Justin's, too – and they've finally gotten their first day off in weeks. It's snowing.
Chris, of course, is making snowballs, although Joey doesn't realize until one hits him square in the back. Joey turns and drops into a crouch to gather some snow of his own. Soon the other guys will notice, too.
For now, though, JC and Lance are sitting and talking. And Justin is grinning to himself, alone, on his back, making a snow angel.

Date: 2008-06-18 09:28 pm (UTC)Well, having tried the Angsty Timbertone (and really only managed to make it angsty by shoehorning Lance in there, really) I'm keen to keep trying and see if I can hit the vibe I'm after. These self-challenges are interesting to me and I'm hoping that they're making me a better writer. Although I may just be going over the same old "let's have as much angst as possible!" ground...
Anyway. Watch this space - and thank you for the encouragement, you're such a fab cheerleader!
