Excitement!

For my birthday this year, my sister and her husband bought me a year's subscription to Mslexia, a magazine for women writers, and a 2009 writer's diary. They arrived today.

I'm really excited - this feels like my first step towards being a writer!

And incidentally, there's writer's conference in Winchester in a couple of weeks. It's incredibly short notice, but I'm a bit tempted, and I might have to go to next year's one even if I don't make it this year.
