Open thread, kind of thing.
You know what, I don't update this journal as much as I'd like, and I don't interact here as much as I'd like, and that's a shame.
So let's talk!
Tell me what you're up to, how you are, what's on your mind. Ask me any random question you like. Share memes or tell me to write the fic you want me to write or link to cat pictures. Speculate about the TV show/movie/book/album/gig you're really looking forward to, or tell me about the one that thrilled you (or pissed you off) most recently.
I will endeavour to reply to every comment.
Have at it!

Infusers actually look like really cool toys though. :D

In offline reading news, I am currently barreling through Lisa Shearin's Raine Benares series, and loving it to bits (if gently sad that the lovely canon polyship, involving dudes ASKING EACH OTHER TO TAKE ON PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES TOWARDS THEIR CHILDREN ;__________________; has just been sunk).
I am trying-trying-trying to wade my way through the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's report on, well, climate change, in order to pull out useful bits; and I'm eating lots of red bean pastries, and shortly will have red bean-pandan shave ice. :-)

Sunk ships are always sad! But I shall look into that series when I have some kind of money again - it sounds interesting.
(I'm really impressed with you re: the report. I find government reports utterly unreadable, which probably means I miss lots of useful information...)
In sum: ♥!

If you'd like to be loaned copies that is within my power...
(I'm mostly skimming it and highlighting paragraphs that look useful. I suspect I am missing lots of things that aren't quite so obviously useful, but oh well. >>)
<3 indeed!

Thank you for the loaned copies! They are definitely on my list of "stuff to read when I'm done writing this thing of writing".

But I survived Passover and had some good time with the family.
I've got an April Fool's gag in the works for a friend in Canada. Looking forward to that coming to fruition.
Also working on making stuffed versions of a couple of his characters. And then slippers for his family (styled after the pair I recently made for myself based on a couple of his characters).
Meantime, things are slowly coming together for this bakery thing which is turning out to be more of a cafe. Menu development has started, we're looking into locations, and we found an experienced and helpful guide to help us along the way.
Mostly, though, I'm just tired and stumbling along.
But hey, my monthly comic book shipment arrived yesterday!
What's up with you?

I'm in the midst of writing my first novel, which is mostly what's going on with me (aside from a bit of programming now and then). Still not really well enough to work and waiting to hear whether I can have government benefits. The novel is really fun, but currently in a sticky place, so I'm sort of screwing around and doing character background stuff and occasionally adding some words.
Camp NanoWriMo starts tomorrow though, so with luck that'll be a bit of motivation to keep going. :D

Ooh, I keep noting that you're putting on the Mikado and meaning to ask you about it - it is one of my favourite things. :D When and where is it happening?

Easter dinner also turned out awesome, and we have a crap-ton of leftovers, so YAY, no cooking dinner tonight!

What did you have for Easter dinner? We had roast lamb, it was delicious.
