I would actually really appreciate your help - it seems like sometimes reading is a poor substitute for actually talking to people about their experiences (though as you might have gathered from the post I'm really inexperienced at researching cultures-not-mine).

I don't have much writing to share just yet, but I would love to ask you some questions, if you are up for that? It feels like some of the problem is not knowing what I don't know, but I'm hoping I'll be able to ask some questions that aren't so broad as to be meaningless...
