Okay, guys, I'm looking for anyone and everyone who might know something about the US criminal justice system (California in particular).

Specifically, I'm writing something set in an LA district attorney's office and need some information about at what point they get information, what they do with it, etc. I'm Googling, but any knowledge from people's brains would also be much appreciated!

Help?

Thanks!

I know exactly nothing about the US criminal justice system apart from the stuff I've Learnt From TV, which doesn't count. But have you asked over at [livejournal.com profile] little_details? They're a nitpicky details community for writers and so on, and I see questions like yours over there pretty much every week. Check the tags before you ask - someone might already have asked and gotten a good answer.

You need someone with specific knowledge of the LA DA's office. Each DA's office in CA has their own system and process they work under, they aren't standardized at all. Like, really not at all.
